Some artists leave behind not only paintings but an enduring presence, one that lingers in light, in brushstrokes, in the way they saw the world. Michael Henry Harrison was one such artist.
Born in the heart of the Cotswolds at Great Brockhampton Farm, Snowshill, in 1948, Michael’s passion for painting was evident from an early age. His journey took him to Italy where he immersed himself in the traditions of European art, before returning home to the landscapes that shaped his vision. During his short but remarkable life (he died aged 35), his paintings found homes in collections across the world, yet for many his talent remained a quiet treasure.
This book is a tribute to Michael’s life and work – a collection of his paintings, and sketches, with his wife Pink’s personal reflections that offer a glimpse into his artistic mind. His ability to capture atmosphere, light and movement remains as compelling today as when his brush first touched paper. Within these pages you will come to know a little of not just the artist, but the man whose love for beauty and expression shaped every piece he created.
This book is not just a retrospective, it is an invitation to step into his world.
