The Borzoi Bookshop has been firmly established in the Cotswold market town of Stow-on-the-Wold since the late 1970s.  Under new management since April 2021, the team have a fantastic range of experience and will do their utmost to help you with your book-ish needs.

History

The team are often asked about the name of the shop. When Jenny and Travis Davison opened the shop in the late 1970s they lived upstairs in the premises in Church Street with their family and two Borzoi dogs. Dogs have always been part of this quirky shop, including Bubbly, the terrier, Tike, the Staffie, Brock, the Jack Russell terrier.  More recently, Alfie, the Lakeland Terrier & Bryn, the Jack Russell / Dachshund cross have joined the team.

The shop prides itself on having a wide and varied selection of books on offer at all times, ranging from classics to interesting new titles, including those from a range of small publishers.  The team love chatting to customers and finding out their preferences so books are often ordered with specific customers in mind.

On 1st April 2019 the shop moved to its new premises on Digbeth Street, and on 1st April  2021 Sarah Dennis became the new owner.  Since then, Clare Blick has joined the team as the manager and the previous owner, Anthea Lycett, continues to work at the Borzoi three days a week.
